Life is unsure; Eat your dessert first

So. Self-confidence.

Have you noticed that suddenly celebrities are taking a huge interest in the self-confidence of us teens? This is great! Finally, someone who understands.

Only problem is, they've got it all wrong. This self-confidence that they are promoting isn't the kind that we want. I want the kind of confidence that will help me to be better, to have the courage to do what is right.

The kind of self-confidence they are encouraging is the reassurance that when you are doing something wrong, you really aren't.

What a tasty paradox!
They take these messed up people and tell them that there is nothing wrong with them *cough cough "self-confidence" cough cough* but rather that there is everything wrong with the world and-here is the keyword- morality.
They think that if they can convince these people that they aren't wrong, that morality is wrong, then they are suddenly very ok with themselves again. See, we know when we have done something wrong, and it eats us up inside. There is no getting away with it, unless we can delude ourselves into thinking that we are right and the accepted morals of the world are wrong.

Ok, now it's time to open up the floor and let you guys talk amongst yourselves.

Self confidence: Helpful characteristic, or sinister plot? ^_^

A Bit of Pertinent Wisdom

Here's some important philosophy I have developed this week...

Do not, under ANY circumstance wait until the DAY BEFORE an exam to study....
ESPECIALLY when you haven't been listening in class all year.
Furthermore, do not wait untill 11:00 at night, only a few hours before it's due, to
write an essay that counts as HALF of your exam grade.
In Addition... do not put off studying because you are ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN that tomorrow is going to be a snow day... cuz IT'S NOT! And then you'll be stuck sitting in a hard, cold desk for two long hours with a massive brain cramp and sugar-hype from the 7 reigndeer-shaped sugar cookies you ate last night when you should have been making chapter outlines.
Finally, do not spend your valuable study time arranging a Phantom of the
Opera medly in 4-part harmony. Although it is highly important, most math
teachers do not include Loyd-Webber related interrogations on their Pre-Cal exams.

A blog of Philosophy

So, Emma awhile ago had the desire to talk about philosophy, so we have started a joint philosophy blog. I would normally say something philosophical or witty here, but I just got home from exams and just want to get the introduction post out of the way. ^_^

So, please, read our blog and feel enlightened.
