If you give a Mouse a cookie...

So, my friend Tori put up a new years post with some of her goals (they were beautiful goals, bytheway) and it made me realize something. The New Year has been in effect for twelve whole days and I haven't written down any of my philosophical thoughts! So, here I am, putting thoughts into words.
This post is, if you couldn't guess, about new beginnings.
I had never thought of the story of Lot like that before, but I loved what one man in particular said.
"She probably didn't give it any consideration that her future could be better than her past."
I think this happens to us a lot. We get comfortable, and then something happens to shake that up, and we hardly ever give it the thought that this new future of ours could be happier then what we had. I know I do that a lot.
I hate change. I think it's stupid, and I rarely think that this change could make me happier than I was. My parents love to remind of this and they always tell me the same stories about when I was little and resisted change. I admit, they are pretty funny, but this new year, I am going to try and not look back; I am going to greet change like an old friend and I am going to face the future with a sunny disposition. (I daresay my poor mother deserves that much.)
Farewall for now my friends, and may we all look forward to the future!
